The spring edition of the VCU Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Care’s quarterly newsletter, The Common Thread, featured the Langston Center, its director and advisory board member Bonnie Jennings, Ph.D., RN, FAAN. Jenning’s keynote address from the Emswiller Interprofessional Symposium “Working Together for Better Health” described the Institute of Medicine’s call for health systems to ‘own’ quality as the tenant for delivering health care and how it has unfolded at VCU. She noted VCU’s quest for quality includes the Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaboration founded in 2011 and the Langston Center for Quality, Safety and Innovation founded in 2015.
She states,”These two centers share the [health system’s] quest for quality care as their common thread, creating a bond that strengthens them individually as well as their shared journey and goal.”
